Romeo Beckham is the Star of Burberry’s Christmas Campaign

So, 12 year old Romeo Beckham has been announced as the face of Burberry’s new Christmas campaign.

It’s safe to say we are well jell! I guess that’s one of the many benefits of having an A list mum. There’s no middle child syndrome going on here! Romeo continues to steal the limelight from his celeb parents and equally superstar siblings. In 2013 Romeo made his modelling debut with Burberry in their Spring/Summer advertisements. Not to mention the numerous times we’ve seen him dressed to the nines on family outings to the front row of fashion shows.

Romeo Burberry

Burberry’s Chief Creative Officer Christopher Bailey hand picked Romeo to be the feature star of the advert; he exclaims; “It continues to be an utter joy working with Romeo – he has charm, style and great energy! I’m delighted that he’s the lead role in our festive campaign.”

The 4 minute film “From London with Love” tells the story of a young boy who gives the gift of love to a couple who take him on a journey of romance and festive enchantment through the streets of London. The concept of the advert shows ‘gifting is the ultimate symbol of a connection between people’.

Speaking about the campaign and working with Romeo, Christopher Bailey said; “This festive campaign is a celebration of everything we love at Burberry; the trench coat, the cashmere scarf, incredible music, our British weather, and working with great and talented people.”

It’s not quite up to the standards of John Lewis’ Christmas adverts but it’s still a heart warmer. In Strictly’s Craig Horwood style we’d give it a 6/10.

Oh, and if you’re wondering what to get us for Christmas… we’ll take the scarf.

The summer staple trends

The summer is finally here in the UK, and with it comes a whole array of exciting trends on the high street. Tropical prints are taking over and the A/W chunky shoe has had a summer overhaul, and this year sees the return of a classic thanks to the likes of trend setters Mary-Kate and Ashley.

The must have

Kimonos are the all rounder piece for this summer. Add it to a simple crop top and denim shorts for a trendy festival look, or glam up a body con dress by pairing it with a bright floral number. For your casual every day look, wear it with a tee and jeans for the ultimate summer outfit. Don’t forget to pack your kimono for your summer holiday; you’ll find they’re perfect for that stylish bikini throw over.

The shoe of the summer

Whether you love them or hate them, there is no denying that the Birkenstock is back. All over the high street, similar designs are popping up making the slip on sandal the ‘shoe of the summer’. With so many designs available, we’ve picked our favourites that are on the high street right now.

The 60s-inspired matchy-matchy top and bottom separates are the perfect outfit for this summer. Wear them together for that ultimate effortless look, or style them separately for a casual summer look with a pop of colour. An all rounder that is sure to make you stand out from the crowd.

Met Gala 2014

Formally called the Costume Institute Gala, the Met Ball is an annual fundraising event for the Metropolitian Museum of Art’s Costume Institute. Known as one of the most exclusive social events in New York, and one of the biggest fundraising nights in the city, the gala is considered to be one of fashion’s biggest red carpet events.

Attended by personalities from the entertainment, arts and fashion industry, we give you our favourite looks of the Met Gala 2014.

Victoria shows how the red carpet is done by wearing a white cropped, floor length dress from her Pre-Fall 2014 collection. Teaming this angelic look with smouldering smokey eyes and a side parted tousled hair; Victoria knows how to work it

–          Joan Smalls:

Not many people can get away with this beautiful shade of violet lipstick, but supermodel Joan Smalsl makes a huge impact with this statement look by wearing a nude floor length gown by Vera Wang. With extended eyelashes and a fresh bare face, Smalls is the pleasantly surprised look of the night

–          Suki Waterhouse:

Suki Waterhouse resembled a real fairytale princess in this breathtaking Burberry dress. The twenty-two year old British model kept the look simple by wearing a romantic up-do and a matte red lipstick

–          Emma Stone:

Personally, Emma Stone has always got it right when it comes to the red carpet. In a pink Thakoon ensemble, Stone’s summery metallic, pink beauty was turned casual with the help of the messy side plait

–          Beyonce:

Beyonce makes her ‘black widow’ debut look at this year’s gala by wearing a black and beaded floor length dress, accessorised with a netted veil and dangly earrings. Queen B kept everything else relatively simple by slicking her hair back into a side-parted style with statement burgundy lips

To be honest, us girls in the office could have kept going…
